Rajma Masala Recipe / Rajma chawal

 Rajma Masala Recipe full of Taste:

Rajma is a spicy vegetable which is rich in protein. Rajma rice is a very famous recipe. it is more popular in punjab where spicy Rajma served with rice. You can easily make it at home. It does not take much time to make it.




Serves 5-6 people:

Ingredients for making Rajma:

  • 250 gram rajma 
  • 2 Bay leaves 
  • 2 Green cardamoms
  • 3 Medium onion finely chopped 
  • 3 Medium tomato finely chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 2 Green chilli chopped 
  • 1 Teaspoon cumin powder 
  • 1 Teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 Teaspoon coriander powder 
  • 1 Teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon red chilli powder  
  • 2 Teaspoon cream 
  • 3 Teaspoon mustard oil
  • chopped coriander leaves
  • salt to taste                                                                                                                                                                  

Method of making: 

First of all we will wash the rajma 2-3 times with water, after that we will soak it in water for 5-6 hours. After that take it out from water and put it in the cooker and add water as per requirement and add 2-3 cloves and salt and close the lid of the cooker and put it on the gas, let it whistle 2-3 times, after that turn off the gas and let the gas of the cooker go out.

1. Then put 2 spoons of oil in a pan and let it heat up, then add some cumin seeds to it, after the cumin seeds crackle add 2 bay leaves.

2. After that add chopped onion and fry till it becomes golden brown, then add chopped green chili and ginger garlic paste and fry for some time.

3. After that add chopped tomato and fry for some time and add some salt, this makes the tomato soft quickly.

4. Then add coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, chili powder, and fry for 2 minutes. When the masala starts leaving oil, add some water to it.

5. Now add boiled rajma to it and mix it well. Add water as required, add salt according to taste, cover it, make the flame of the gas medium and let it boil. After that, reduce the flame of the gas and let it cook for 15 minutes. Turn off the gas and add coriander leaves. Finally add cream and serve it hot.

You can eat this with roti, cumin rice, simple rice, paratha, etc.
